Focus on one model.Expand across the workspace.

  • Focus on a model and set upstream and downstream depth independently
  • Explore one project or the full workspace, including sibling projects and locally installed packages
  • Expand dependencies from any card; search and choose models when there are more than five neighbours
  • Open a resource’s backing file directly from its card
  • Read materialisation and deprecation labels as you trace dependencies
  • See whether the graph is up to date and when it was last refreshed

Shape the view around the question you are asking

  • Pan and zoom to explore the graph; drag cards to arrange the view
  • Select multiple cards and hide resources you do not need to see
  • Undo and redo changes to your view
  • Use Reset to Focus to clear manual expansion, hidden models, and layout while keeping your chosen depths and project scope
  • Use Reset Layout to restore positions and zoom for the visible models
  • Rearrange and fit the graph as you expand, or choose Keep positions to preserve your layout

How lineage is built

From project files to a lineage graph

daglane reads the dbt files in your workspace to identify resources and the dependencies between them.

The graph updates when you save a dbt file. You can switch to manual updates in Settings.

daglane flags unresolved references and unsupported dbt features in diagnostics.
